Buildings & Projects

Below outlines my experience gained at different projects and campuses over my career , organized based on client location.

Landmark College: 2008-on going (3 generations)

@ CTI: 1) Aiken Hall renovation in 2009 managed the installation, programming and commissioning of the building control system with an integrated solar domestic hot water system.

@ EVT: 1) Influenced the integration of heat pump Roof Top Units into the new STEM building.

2) Designed and implemented a refined sequence of operations, leading to a 50%  reduction in heating and cooling energy requirement in the STEM building.

3) Demonstrated the first example of dynamic load management in partnership with  Green Mountain Power and Dynamic Organics.

@ LB: Offering roadmap development consulting and design services

Mack Molding: 2015- on going (2 generations)

@ EVT: Consulted on efficiency projects including metering, lighting, heating, and process efficiency improvements across all 3 Vermont plants.

@ LB: Consulting on Energy Savings Account administration, and Vermont-based roadmap development

Hiland Hall School: 2015-ongoing (2 generations)

@ EVT & HHS facilities committee: 1) 2015: Oversaw deep energy retrofit project reducing total energy use by 63%.

2) 2020: Aligned grant funding, contractor, and supply chain resources to install high-efficiency ventilation and control systems and electrical service upgrade.

@ LB: 1) Provide technical assistance and oversight of heating, ventilation, and control system. 2) Developing a transitional plan to eliminate fossil fuel use and ease of maintenance.

3) Offering educational opportunities about energy, where it comes from, how it is used, and the impacts of its use.

Brattleboro Retreat: 2012-on going (3 career)

@ CTI: Programmed, commissioned, and maintained control system

@ EVT: Cofounded flexible load management in Vermont with a Proof of Concept integrating ice  storage and dynamic load management strategies

@ LB: High-level oversight of campus controls, rewriting and programming of the ice storage system.  Campus roadmap development

Alex and Candace Beck 2019-ongoing (2 generations)

@ EVT: Conceptually designed advocated for a residential proof-of-concept highlighting the benefits of holistic home renovations paired with efficient electrified heating solutions.

@ LB: 1) Overseeing the design, implementation, and commissioning of an air-to-water heat pump system incorporating thermal storage.

2) Searching for appropriate residential control solutions to demonstrate dynamic load management of heating and thermal storage systems.

Woodstock emergency management services: 2020-ongoing (2 generations)

@ EVT: Conceptual design of air-to-water heat pump with phase change thermal storage system.

@ LB: Fine-tuning and commissioning of the installation and operation of the HVAC and control systems.
