Internships

Welcome to our Resilient Built Environment Internship Program! This comprehensive opportunity is designed to provide aspiring professionals, students, and enthusiasts with an immersive experience in the world of regenerative construction practices. Throughout this internship, participants will gain hands-on training and knowledge in regenerative building techniques, including rammed earth construction, hemp crete construction, and EMF and mold detection and prevention. Join us as we embark on a transformative journey of finding new ways of living on the planet.

Program Overview:

Our Regenerative Building Internship Program is a unique and specialized opportunity that focuses on equipping participants with the skills and knowledge required to contribute to sustainable building practices. The program is divided into five distinct modules, each addressing a crucial aspect of regenerative construction.

Modern earth construction:

In this module, interns will delve into the ancient and time-tested technique of rammed earth construction. Through both theoretical and practical sessions, participants will learn about the principles of soil composition, stabilization techniques, formwork construction, and the overall process of building with rammed earth. You will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on activities, working alongside experienced professionals to construct rammed earth walls, foundations, and structures.

Energy efficiency:

This module explores energy-efficient design, weatherization techniques, and building deconstruction for reuse. Interns learn about thermal shells, insulation, air sealing, and efficient windows. They gain practical skills in salvaging materials and proper deconstruction methods. Emphasizing circular economy principles, this module focuses on creating sustainable spaces while minimizing waste and maximizing resource efficiency. Participants become adept at implementing energy-saving strategies and contributing to the sustainable construction industry.

DEConstruction and material reuse:

In this crucial component of the internship, we'll explore the process of deconstruction and the reuse of materials in sustainable construction. Interns will be introduced to the methodology of building disassembly, and how to salvage reusable materials for their integration into new projects. This training underpins our commitment to reducing construction waste and advocating for a circular economy. Participants will acquire practical skills in evaluating material quality, identifying reuse potential, and safely disassembling structures. This understanding of how to repurpose 'waste' into resources allows interns to play a vital role in minimizing the environmental impact of construction projects.

Program Benefits:

  • Gain hands-on experience in regenerative building techniques and sustainable construction practices.

  • Work closely with experienced professionals in the field, fostering mentorship and guidance.

  • Develop practical skills in rammed earth construction, hemp crete construction, and EMF and mold detection and prevention.

  • Enhance your understanding of the environmental and health impacts of traditional construction practices.

  • Collaborate with like-minded individuals passionate about sustainability and regenerative design.

  • Receive a certificate of completion, recognizing your commitment and achievement in the program.

Join us in this internship program, where theory meets practice, and innovation meets sustainability. Together, let us build a future that harmonizes with our environment, fosters human well-being, and sets new standards for regenerative building practices. Apply now and be a part of this transformative journey towards a greener and more sustainable world.

Apprenticeships

Program Overview:

Our Resilient Built Environment Apprenticeship Program offers a unique and specialized learning experience that focuses on integrating sustainable construction systems into real-world projects. The program consists of three key components, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of regenerative building principles and their practical application.

Comprehensive training:

Apprentices will undergo extensive training in the various regenerative building techniques covered in the internship program. Through workshops, lectures, and hands-on activities, participants will acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in rammed earth construction, hemp crete construction, EMF and mold detection and prevention, thermal shells, weatherization, and building deconstruction for reuse. This foundational training will equip apprentices with the expertise required to implement these sustainable practices effectively.

project integration:

Apprentices will have the unique opportunity to work on real-world projects that integrate all the learned systems and techniques. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, participants will actively contribute to the design, planning, and execution of regenerative building projects. This hands-on experience will allow apprentices to apply their knowledge in practical scenarios, fostering a deep understanding of how these systems can be seamlessly integrated to create sustainable and resilient structures.

mentoring and professional development:

Throughout the apprenticeship, participants will receive mentorship and guidance from industry professionals. Mentors will provide personalized support, helping apprentices refine their skills, address challenges, and nurture their professional growth. Additionally, apprentices will have opportunities for networking, attending industry events, and engaging in collaborative discussions with like-minded individuals, further expanding their knowledge and professional network.
